Care and cleaning

Mineral boards require no special maintenance. The cleaning procedure depends on the type of finish and on whether the board is installed on a facade or indoors.

Facade: routine cleaning

Dust and atmospheric soiling are removed with water and a soft brush or sponge, working from top to bottom, followed by rinsing with clean water. Interior lines with a dense finish may be wet-cleaned with a neutral detergent.

If pressure washing is used, keep a distance of at least 50 cm, hold the jet at an angle to the surface and never direct it into the joint. Pressure and temperature are limited by the instructions for the line.

Local soiling

  • Remove fresh marks immediately — dried soiling is harder to remove and may leave a trace
  • Organic soiling: warm water with a neutral cleaner and a soft brush
  • Traces of construction materials are removed before setting, mechanically, without abrasives
  • Biological growth in shaded areas is removed with products approved for mineral surfaces
  • Do not use abrasive powders, wire brushes or scrapers
  • Do not use acidic or strongly alkaline products, or solvents

Interior surfaces

Boards with a dense factory finish — the UV and PVC lines, and ACRIL in interior use — are designed for regular wet cleaning. Wipe the surface with a soft cloth or sponge using warm water and a neutral detergent, then remove residual moisture. Abrasive pads and powders leave matt marks on glossy areas.

The UV line with an antibacterial finish is used in areas with elevated hygiene requirements. For disinfection, use alcohol-based products or ready-made cleaners approved for hard non-porous surfaces, without high chlorine concentrations and without abrasives.

  • Kitchen areas: remove grease immediately with warm water and a neutral degreasing cleaner
  • Sanitary rooms: limescale is removed with a mild, non-acidic glass cleaner
  • Public areas: marker pen and scuff marks — isopropyl alcohol on a soft cloth, locally, followed by rinsing
  • FIBER boards painted on site are maintained according to the instructions of the paint manufacturer
  • Do not use steam cleaners or pressure washing indoors
  • Do not leave long-acting staining substances on the surface: hair dye, ink, pigmented spills

Facade inspection

An annual visual inspection is recommended: condition of the joints, absence of mechanical damage, clear ventilation gaps at base and eaves, no trapped moisture. A blocked ventilation cavity disrupts the system and is the most common cause of problems in ventilated facades.

Panel replacement

A ventilated facade allows an individual panel to be replaced without removing the adjacent ones. The procedure depends on the fixing system and is set out in the installation guide. When ordering a replacement, state the batch number — the colour is matched to it.

Natural change of the surface

Mineral material develops a patina over time under the influence of the environment. Minor differences in shade between batches and natural change of the surface in service are not defects. For large continuous elevations, order the material as a single batch.
